Our events, like HackNITR and HackInnovision, are great chances for students to team up and create innovative solutions. Whether you’re tackling the thrilling 36-hour coding marathons or enjoying friendly challenges, our events fun workshops and competitions inspire the next generation of tech lovers.
HackNITR
HackNITR, launched in 2019 by the Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) and OpenCode at NIT Rourkela, has transformed into India’s largest student-run hackathon.
The fourth edition, HackNITR 4.0, took place in January 2023 and marked a significant milestone by attracting over 5,200 participants from more than 30 countries, resulting in an impressive total of over 390 project submissions.
HackNITR 5.0, held on March 2024, attracted over 3,000 participants from more than 50 colleges across the country. With a total prize pool of $49,080, generously sponsored by the leading industries.
HackInnovision
HackInnovision is one of the most prominent intra-college hackathons at NIT Rourkela. It marked a huge success since its inception in 2024 which brought in about 200+ participants
Organized by the Student Activity Centre (SAC) in collaboration with OpenCode and the Google Developer Student Club (GDSC), HackInnovision emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning
It provides students with a platform to showcase their creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Openchase
OpenChase is a hybrid treasure hunt event that combines physical exploration with digital problem-solving. Organized by OpenCode in collaboration with the Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC)
It was a highlight of Innovision 2024. It challenged teams to decipher clues hidden across various mediums, including media files, websites, and locations on campus.
Spanning five intense rounds, OpenChase tests participants creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities as they race against time to uncover each hint
HackSamagam
HackSamagam is an internal hackathon hosted by NIT Rourkela, bringing together students to collaborate intensively on software development projects.
The event is organized by OpenCode, our very own club, in collaboration with other technical clubs such as the Algorithmic and Programming Society (APS), Cyborg (Robotics and Automation Club), and ML4E (Machine Learning for Everyone).
Participants form teams to develop innovative solutions while on clock, bringing in presentations and demonstrations too.
